Don't Defend Them

I just don't see the reason why we should defend
someone after they ditch us at the time we needed them
the most by making up excuses for them. But one thing
we should be okay with is that they will always
think of their safety and reputation first in times of
trouble and if we cool with that and can cope then fine
but they will never change cause it's part of them.
Lemme top this up by a silly story I heard whereby a
woman's husband sped off to safety when they were being
attacked by armed robbers in the middle of the night.
He forgot to wake up his wife who was still fast asleep
and it was too late to return so he had to endure hearing
the screams of his wife while she was being molested by the
robbers and returned when they were done and gone to console
her with the excuse of their room being wide apart. It's not
surprising if such a man packs all his valuable assets and vacates
in the night while their house is on fire. Gets to the garage, he now
remembers his wife and calls her on the phone and after she also escapes
taking some her stuffs and that of her husband. She meets him in the garage
and discovers he has already packed, asks him how and he gives the same excuse
of their room being wide apart. Get used to it. Look at the bright side.
