Getting someone's number could be very difficult depending on your confidence level.

Don't get someone to get you their number, if you really serious about them. Also don't trick the person by saying your phone is off and you need theirs to make an urgent call. They wouldn't take you serious if you say hi afterwards. So if you are truly interested in them, doing it face-to-face is the best way and not through emails or facebook if you know them in person.
